Studio Lighting

For our next task we were put into groups and were instructed to experiment with the studio lights. We were told to bring in an egg and make it look 'sexy'.

We firstly placed the egg into a jewellery box and placed some jewellery around it. The look of the egg reminded us of a 'royal egg'. We experimented by using red cellophane over the studio light. I believed that the red lighting would make the image have a more 'sexier' look, due to red being associated with love/lust. However i felt that the red made the image to dark and a mysterious look rather than 'sexy'.












We then decided to just use the normal studio lighting. However in this image I changed the ISO levels on my camera to control how much light was let into the shot. We also held a white piece of paper to the left of the box, therefore making the image lighter. However in this image the ISO level was too high, therefore letting to much light in and washing out the image.

This is the final image that our group choose to present. i think that the lighting is a lot less harsh than the previous photos. I also changed the ISO levels so less light was able to get into the image, this worked better as the image isn't as harsh. The main focus point of this image is not the egg, but in fact the cushion behind it. I feel that this makes the image more interesting. Due to the focus point being on the cushion, this adds more depth to the image.
