For the second week of our final major project, we were set 'creative making week' brief. This entailed us to join up with the graphics foundation students and continue to work with them for the duration of the week. I think it was fair to say many people were very unenthused about this project as everyone wanted to continue working on their own final major project. Once we teamed up with the graphic students into groups, we all began discussing our finalmajor projects and what they were about. My groups final projects consisted of animal documentary, film about grandfather and his boat, pattern and alcoholism. However we concluded that there was no links within our final project topics to come up with something.
We then looked back to the list of objects that we were given in the brief. One of the group members decided to make a cup and ball game. From this we thought about times before technology was so developed. We thought about cup games played, especially by children. I decide to research into cup games that are used by children for brain development. Some games that I found included:
1.Stacking: building pyramids from the paper cuts- This is used for fine motor skills and builds patience, concentration skills and perseverance.
2.Building and Construction: This is used for imagination and fine motor skills.
3. Knock Down: This is used for gross motor skills and hand eye co-ordination.
Following this research we decided to make cup games. We planned to make a film of people playing the games, however only half our group turned up on friday. I feel that the project could have gone better if there had been better communication between the group. However I feel everyones main priority was to work on our final major project.
Here are some pictures of people playing the games we made
