Research- National History Museum

Yesterday I Visited The National History Museum as part of my secondary research for my FMP. I want particularly to look at the mammals section and to visit the Darwin Centre.

I wanted visit the mammals section as a introduction to my project, I felt by doing this it would make me get into a good mind set for my research into animals and animal behaviour. I managed to gather some information about mammals in general as a starting point. Although there wasn't a section on wolves, there was a section dedicated to wild dogs, foxes and wolves. Here i was able to gather some useful information that could be beneficial to my project as I study further into wolves.

I made some notes in my sketchbook about all the information that I had gathered from the mammals section.

Following this I went to the Darwin Centre which was located at the back of the museum. Not only am I looking at wolves in general but I am interested in learning how all animals have developed over the years. How they survive/their behaviours and what we can learn from them. Once I arrived at the Darwin Centre, I came across the Attenborough Studio. There was a live show due to start in 10 minutes on Animal Vision, so I decided to go and watch it. Although the show seemed to be mainly directed at families with children, I still found it very informative. The show also included real animals which made it more interesting. The show focused on Animal vision, firstly focusing on predators and then prey animals.
