I think that my third edit changed my film a lot for the better and I now feel that a lot of progress has been made within my work. I am now starting to see the structure within the film a lot more and so far am pleased with it.
I started to think of narration for my film. However after some discussion with Tom, he advised me to try and use the footage I already have as narration. Following this I looked at all of my interview footage that I had collected and was able to find the necessary footage to use a narration. In doing this I was then able to cut out the extra bits of footage I put in for narration.
Again as advised I extended the first bit of footage of Shaun howling, this I feel adds a bigger impact to the beginning of the film, which is something I feel is very important. I think this bit of footage will draw people in further as it will make people question why there is a man in an enclosure with wolves.
I also cut down bits of footage that weren't needed. I cut off some interview questions at more important moments, rather than allowing the footage to drag on.
New Hunting Footage
After being advised to get better quality footage I managed to find a video of people wolf hunting on youtube. The clip involves people on snow jet skis chasing a wolf throughout the snow and then shooting it dead, which I feel is more shocking than my previous clip that I was going to use. The video also has good camera work as the camera glide closer in on the wolf as the jet ski gets closer to it.
I feel that by changing the hunting footage it has made my film easier to follow as I now have a interview response (audio) to the question of 'whats the biggest threat to wolves.' Having this playing over the top of the hunting footage makes the whole clip much more interesting and makes good use of the interview footage, rather than recording narration just for the clip.

I feel that by using my own interview footage as narration for my film, it has made the film stronger and it also flows a lot better. However there is still room for some improvement as I need to clean up some clips and also edit the sound a bit more.
Yet again I showed my film to fellow students and tutors to get their views on my work:
Tom(Tutor):
- Bring howling into title before footage is shown on screen
- Clean up some clips
- Edit sound further
Imogen Riley (Peer):
- Really good- liked it
- Good story
- First interview clip- needs some work on
Imogen Power(Peer):
- Very good
- Hunting footage- really effective
Seb(tutor):
- Sound edit- levels/mastering/background noise
- Well structured
- Good Start
- First cut needs some work
- Interviews with mike- sound needs to be worked on
- Red riding hood footage is good
- Shaun Ellis footage really good
- Hunting footage- maybe add something more harrowing (shock factor)
- Neaten up everything
I now feel that my film has made a lot of progression. I think what I now need to focus on is editing the sound and neatening up everything. Also if needed cutting down some footage that drags on a bit.
